Prospective Post #3

So, I chose this song, not because I thought people hadn't heard the song before.... because it has like half a billion listens on Spotify, but rather, I posted it as a prospective option for y'all, because it's not all about how popular it is. In this situation, I wanted to bring up a couple of things for the class and ourselves. First, is this song about the self? Is it even about sadness? Why does the music video on Youtube have only 20% of the listens that the same song has on Spotify? Is that the way the world of music is working nowadays, or is it because the video is dark and six minutes long? Does this speak to the artist's intent and integrity? What's this relationship between past and present selves?

This is a post to ask questions for your classmates. Let's jam and be criticalizing about it (and criticalziing is not a word, but I liked the sound of it).
